IELTS

IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is the most taken and accepted English language awareness test accepted for overseas education and immigration.

IELTS tests the proficiency in English language for people who intend to study or work in countries where English is the main language.

IELTS is conducted by The Cambridge English Language Assessment, The British Council and IDP-Australia.

IELTS has over 900 test venues that offer the test 4 times a month in over 130 countries.

IELTS tests all four basic language skills i.e Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.

TEST FORMAT | IELTS INSTITUTE IN CHANDIGARH 

IELTS can be taken in any of the two versions; The Academic and General Training (depending upon visa requirement and whether it is required for professional aims or academic).

IELTS students have the same speaking and listening modules but separate reading and writing modules in general training.

IELTS Academic Training: The academic scores are recognized by universities or colleges for further education in English speaking countries.

IELTS General Training: In this a candidate’s general skill in broad social and workplace contexts is evaluated. It is generally for people who are moving to English speaking countries for work or training programs.

Eligibility Criteria For IELTS:-

Recommended for students over 16 years of age.

There are no educational requirement for taking IELTS. Any person who wants to study or work in English speaking countries can apply for IELTS.

International English Language Testing System

The IELTS test assesses your abilities in listening, reading, writing and speaking – in less than three hours.

There are two types of the IELTS test:  IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training. Listening and Speaking are the same for both tests, but the subject matter of the Reading and Writing components differs depending on which test you take.

The Listening, Reading and Writing components of all IELTS tests are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them.

The Speaking component, however, can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests. Your test centre will advise.

The total test time is 2 hours and 45 minutes.
